About ULTIMATE Canary Islands Guide

ULTIMATE Canary Islands Guide is an independent guide for visitors to the Canary Islands, Spain. We publish 13 curated lists: restaurants, hotels, sights, arts & culture, nature, cafés, wine & bars, shopping, health, walks, cars & yachts, property and getting around. Today the guide holds 105 places, with 9 area and themed guides, 7 in-depth articles and 4 day plans, and we keep adding to it.

Our editor

Jai Michael is Editor-in-Chief of the ULTIMATE City Guides. With more than 25 years in the media industry, he founded ABSOLUTE brighton and London TV, and has worked with leading luxury brands around the world.

How we choose

Every place in our lists has been checked against its own website or an official source such as UNESCO, the MICHELIN Guide, Spain’s national-parks service (MITECO), the island governments (cabildos) and their tourism boards, and the operators themselves. We take no payment for listings, use no ratings, and leave out anything we cannot confirm.

Before you go

Opening hours, ferry timetables and entry rules change. Please check directly with each place before you travel. Prices are in euros (EUR); the islands are one hour behind mainland Spain.
